Chateau Balestard

Appellation:Bordeaux - Bordeaux AOC
Varietal:Merlot
Vintage:2005
The conditions in 2005 produced wines of excellent quality, especially in Bordeaux, and Château Balestard was no exception. A dense purple color, the 2005 is well balanced and deliciously smooth. The nose is present and intense, with great depth, giving off notes of ripe red fruits, roasted coffee, with spicy nuances of cinnamon, nutmeg, and soft toffee. In the mouth it is powerful, complex, and persistent with good dusty tannins adding balance to the youthful fruit.. The wine will evolve wonderfully in the bottle.

Appellation:Bordeaux - Bordeaux AOC
Varietal:Merlot
Vintage:2005
After the great success with Château Balestard we are now happy to offer the second label from the same estate at an extremely affordable price. This wine has been subjected to meticulous care from the vine to the barrel. The vines are continuously pruned to increase the leafy surface and to improve the photosynthesis and raise the grape sugar concentration. All these efforts are made with the aim to bring the grapes to their best ripeness. Vinification is done in wooden vats and the wine is then aged for 18 months in the best French oak from Seguin Moreau. The result is awesome! The wine is silky and smooth with elegant tannins, supple, round and harmonious, with notes of black fruits and chocolate. Judged one of the Top 100 Affordable Bordeaux Wines in 2006, 2007, and 2008!

Vintage:2003
This wonderful Bordeaux is a blend of 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernets. It is gorwn on clay/silica soil using taditional and evnironmentally firendly techniques. The wine is aged in new oak barrels for 10 months, then stainless teel vats for 7 months. The powerful merlot blends well with the elegance of the cabernets, exhibiting aromas of violets, cedar, smoke, and blackcurrant. All this is balanced by firm tannins and a round, lengthy finish. The wine is drinking excellently right now, but is very age worthy, and will be at its best in 4-5 years. 90-92 Points - Robert Parket. Best French Winegrower - Guide Hachette 02-03
