| Chateau Puy-Servain |
| Region: | France |
| Appellation: | Bergerac - Montravel |
| Varietal: | Merlot |
| Vintage: | 2004 |
This vineyard is the home of DAniel Hecquet, a terrific oenologist who honed his skills working at Chateau Y'quem and Figeac before returning to Puy-Servain.
This Montravel Rouge is a blend of old-vine Merlot with 20% Cabernet Franc added. The wine is aged for 14-16 months in small barrels of 40% new and 60% one-year old oak. It has aromas of briar and leather on the nose which lead to a core of beautiful, dark-red berry fruits on the palate, with mineral notes highlighting the long finish.
