| Baronnie Madeleine Chinon Rouge |
| Region: | France |
| Appellation: | Loire - Chinon |
| Varietal: | Cabernet Franc |
| Vintage: | 2007 |
Our latest find from Chinon, this 100% Cabernet Franc was grown on a mixture of clay and limestone soils, with manual harvesting and vinification in stainless steel tanks. In the glass, it is a bright ruby, with purple hues and a delicate nose of strawberries and raspberries. The palate is rock solid, with ripe, structured layers of plum, blackcurrant, and black cherry offset by sweet olive tapenade, mineral, and aged tobacco. The long, iron-filled finish shows impressive depth and should age well for the next 2-3 years.
