A Premieres Cotes de Bordeaux Rouge with a blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. | Chateau Bel Air La Royere |
| Region: | France |
| Appellation: | Bordeaux - 1ere Cotes de Blaye |
| Varietal: | Merlot |
| Vintage: | 2004 |
This is a remarkable wine and a laudable accomplishment by Corinne and Xavier LORIAUD. At the Grand Jury European tastings of the 2003 Right Bank this wine was ranked number two out of 111 wines tasted!
A 70% Merlot, 30% Malbec blend, it has wonderful dark cherry fruit on the nose with melded vanilla notes and cedar cigar-box hints. A beautifully textured palate with brambly fruit, savory chocolate nuances in addition to spices and a good persistence. This wine can be enjoyed now or laid down for consumption over the next 4-5 years (RP 89 points).

| Chateau Balestard |
| Region: | France |
| Appellation: | Bordeaux - Bordeaux AOC |
| Varietal: | Merlot |
| Vintage: | 2005 |
The conditions in 2005 produced wines of excellent quality, especially in Bordeaux, and Château Balestard was no exception. A dense purple color, the 2005 is well balanced and deliciously smooth. The nose is present and intense, with great depth, giving off notes of ripe red fruits, roasted coffee, with spicy nuances of cinnamon, nutmeg, and soft toffee. In the mouth it is powerful, complex, and persistent with good dusty tannins adding balance to the youthful fruit.. The wine will evolve wonderfully in the bottle.

| Lalande Balestard |
| Region: | France |
| Appellation: | Bordeaux - Bordeaux AOC |
| Varietal: | Merlot |
| Vintage: | 2005 |
After the great success with Château Balestard we are now happy to offer the second label from the same estate at an extremely affordable price. This wine has been subjected to meticulous care from the vine to the barrel. The vines are continuously pruned to increase the leafy surface and to improve the photosynthesis and raise the grape sugar concentration. All these efforts are made with the aim to bring the grapes to their best ripeness. Vinification is done in wooden vats and the wine is then aged for 18 months in the best French oak from Seguin Moreau. The result is awesome! The wine is silky and smooth with elegant tannins, supple, round and harmonious, with notes of black fruits and chocolate.
Judged one of the Top 100 Affordable Bordeaux Wines in 2006, 2007, and 2008!

The color is deep and intense with ruby-red highlights. On the nose it is very perfumed, filled with toasty vanilla. It is smooth and elegant on the palate with ripe fruit flavors. Allow it to be decanted and the full beauty of the wine will come out!
